Normally, L’Aquila Active doesn’t do journalism or news.
Normally we discuss important, but largely non-controversial topics like yoga and meditation. We often also discuss climate change and sustainability, which we feel go hand-in-hand with yoga and meditation, because we are not separate from our environment.
However, for those truly engaged in the arts of meditation and yoga, we understand that while it is peaceful, it is NOT passive.
Yoga means union.
Union of the body, mind, and spirit. You cannot truly claim to be a student of this sacred art if you do not live your life truthfully. Live truthfully means speaking truthfully.

As a parent, I felt compelled to write this post. I just couldn’t stay silent.

Wait? I Thought the Left Was Skeptical of Big Businesses? What Happened?
I recognize this post is controversial and not for everyone. That’s ok. Please understand that regardless of where you stand on this issue, as long as you are civil and sincere in your beliefs, I respect and even treasure both your opinion and perspective. That’s because, while my values and morals don’t change, my beliefs can based on new information.
That’s called thinking for yourself.
However, it never ceases to amaze me how many of those that claim to be on the “left” and historically have been EXTREMELY skeptical of Big Pharma, Big Banks, Big Tech and big business in general.
Also, historically, the left and democrats have been VERY concerned about the general corruption and pay-for-play corporate welfare, lobbying etc. of big business championed by major Democratic frontrunner candidates like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

Remember When Oversight Agencies Were Corrupted During the Financial Crisis? Didn’t That Happen Recently?
Yet somehow, when it comes to THIS crisis, many people are WAY too comfortable using their own children experimentally when there is very little data, especially on long term effects (puberty, fertility, etc.). There have also been relatively few studies on children, especially when compared to adult studies.
Similar to the financial crisis in 2007 where the ratings agencies were HEAVILY influenced by the banks on the mortgages companies and lead to the GOLDEN triple AAA rated mortgage bonds that were given out like candy to investors and ultimately fueled the financial crisis, one must also be aware of how HEAVILY influenced the FDA is by Big Pharma.

Like far too many oversight agencies in our nation, the FDA often is a rotating door that offers easy and comfortable 7-figure “consultant” jobs after their tenure for many of those in high ranking FDA positions that “play ball” with major pharmaceutical companies.
Does it it Concern Anyone That A Corrupt Pharmaceutical Industry Can’t Be Sued Over This?
Does it not concern anyone that these exact same companies, which have collectively paid BILLIONS in damages in the last 10-15 years are also completely indemnified in the situation and can’t be sued?
These companies are amoral at best seeking profits without caring about the public good at best. At worst, they are corrupt and aware of what they are doing and assume the short term profitability will be worth the long term damage.
The Pharmaceutical Industry Has A Long, Sad, and Terrifying History of Paying BILLIONS in Criminal and Civil Damages
Here’s a great example from Reuters.
Reuters is considered the GOLDEN STANDARD of journalism in the world along with the Associated Press.
Johnson & Johnson knew for decades that asbestos lurked in its Baby Powder
Just recently in 2009, Phizer paid out 2.3 BILLION in damages regarding its role in the Opioid crisis for Unlawful promotion; deceptive marketing, including off-label promotion and kickbacks to physicians for prescriptions; and submitting false claims to government healthcare programs based on non-medically accepted uses.
There’s a fantastic Hulu series called “Dopesick” starring two of the best actors of our time, Michael Keaton and Rosario Dawson, about a major company called Purdue Pharma that actually went bankrupt over the Opioid crisis and was forced to pay over $8 billion in damages.
Similarly another great series, a documentary called HBO series called “Crime of the Century” directed by Emmy and Academy Award winner, Alex Gibney.
These are not LOONEY conspiracy films, these are mainstream films based on real events.
Here’s’ a FANTASTIC SUMMARY of all the recent settlements by major pharmaceutical companies that are all relatively recent by legal firm Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy. Sadly, it’s a very long list with very HIGH numbers.
Guys! The legal proceedings are still ongoing, this isn’t ancient history – the Opioid Crisis isn’t over!
Personally, I’ve lost three friends to the Opioid Crisis.
Do you personally know anyone who has died from it?
More importantly, do you REALLY think they care about your children?
There’s no easy way to say this, so I’m just going to come out and say it.
Forget about adults. We can all make our own decisions in this world. Children cannot. It is our only solemn and sacred duty as parents to protect them from harm.
As a father, it is most important job on this PLANET.
As a mother or father, I know you feel the same way.
I have a serious question for you….
Do you ACTUALLY think vaccine mandates for children will make children better off?
OR
Are you doing this for your OWN safety, out of fear?
If your doing this for your own safety, out of fear….
Are you any different than a TERRORIST that uses children as human shields?
They were scared, too.
For Those Who Have Died From The Opioid Crisis…..Your Death Was Not In VAIN
Rest in Peace to my friends, and all of those who have died from the Opioid Crisis and from the greed, incompetent, and negligence of the pharmaceutical industry.
Your deaths are NOT in vain.
