Who We Are
JONATHAN O’DONNELL, FOUNDER
Jonathan has been actively engaged in the fitness industry for over a decade, and has owned multiple gyms throughout New Jersey during his career. He has also been buying and selling fitness apparel and other related products during this time.
Jonathan began his journey into sustainable and eco-conscious fashion through buying, selling, and personally consuming organic and sustainable food, beverages and supplements – many of these small and family run companies share the same values as the eco-conscious brands featured here at L’Aquila.
Jonathan believes that the time has come for sustainable and organic fashion to become mainstream, especially in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia.
He has made it his personal mission not only to create L’Aquila, one of the first global platforms for sustainable clothing and other products, but also to spread awareness to others through weekly blog. He graduated NYU Stern Business School with a concentration in Finance.
CAROLYN PALMIERI, HEAD OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Carolyn has worked in the fashion industry for the past 30 years. At a young age she loved fashion and decided to pursue a career in the industry going to The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC.
She received a degree in Buying and Merchandising and was hired from an internship finishing her degree at night.
She became a buyer, working for several large retail corporations and as her career evolved, she was promoted to Vice President running several multi-million-dollar businesses.
One of the highlights of her career was working for an athletic global retailer where she was a merchant and collaborated with several iconic brands to develop exclusive curated assortments.
An avid runner and athlete, she personally understood how critical it was for fitness apparel to offer fashion and function.
Carolyn and Jonathan met over a year ago and collaborated on the idea of developing a collective of high end, niche brands in fitness and lifestyle apparel that would be both eco-conscious and sustainable.
L’Aquila was born.
